I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a loyal customer of Laura Tanner Jewelry over the years, whether you own one of my pieces or many! Seeing my jewelry on happy clients is one of the best parts of this job. I wanted you to be among the first to know that I have made a very hard decision to close Laura Tanner Jewelry after almost 13 wonderful years. Our last day of operation will be August 31, 2019.
You may be wondering why I have made this difficult decision. While I have loved running LTJ for all these years, I have been increasingly involved in activism and politics since the 2016 election, as some of you may know. As one of the founders and leaders of the grassroots group Indivisible Evanston, I am planning on shifting my focus to this work with Indivisible, in order to build on the momentum of our contribution to the 2018 Blue Wave. Starting this Fall, I will be working on helping Democrats keep the House, flip the Senate and to win the White House back in 2020. Get in touch if you'd like to help!
Although it's certainly very hard to let go of LTJ after so many years, there comes a time in all of our lives when we have to make hard choices. This has been one of them. However, I am looking forward to having more time and energy to focus on my work with Indivisible, and to hopefully make a small difference at this very important time for this country. I finally realized that people were onto something when they kept asking me how I did it all (many of you included…)! All I know is that sometimes we have to close one door in order to open another, and I am excited to see what is beyond this next door!
And while this is sad news, it is also happy news for you, as it means that we are having a HUGE closing sale! As of July 15, all current collections are 50% off and older designs are 60% off online and at the LTJ Studio in Evanston. I also have a number of older designs at the studio that are 75% off! So if you live in the Chicago area, come by (open days and hours are on the Events page)! We are only selling in-stock inventory (i.e. not making anything to order), so when it's gone, it's gone! Many popular styles have already sold out, so snap them up while you can!
As of July 17, I am also selling my displays, fixtures, storage, tools, etc. Starting July 23, I will be selling my jewelry making supplies and materials. Hours for those sales are the same as for the in person jewelry sale and are at the Evanston studio.
Thank you again for being wonderful customers. And although I won't be making new LTJ designs any time soon, I look forward to seeing my jewelry on your beautiful selves for many years to come!
All my best,
Laura Tanner Swinand
